Eight steps, in order, to go from an empty account to an aviary you actually track: set up your species, record your birds, form your pairs, follow a clutch through to hatching, keep up with health, expenses and exhibitions, then tune the app to your hand.

1. Step 1 of 8 · 20 min

   Create your account and set up your aviary

   The initial setup means declaring the species you keep along with their biological settings: incubation time, clutch size, laying rhythm and brooding pattern. These are what let the app work out your hatch dates instead of leaving you to keep them in your head.

2. Step 2 of 8 · 25 min

   Record your first birds

   A bird is created from five required fields, species, breed, sex, ring number and status, plus a date of birth that accepts the year alone when the exact day is unknown, which is the usual case for a bird bought as an adult.

3. Step 3 of 8 · 15 min

   Organise your aviaries

   Aviaries are laid out on a spatial board where each one is placed, resized and coloured freely, and where birds are assigned by drag and drop from a panel that permanently lists those assigned nowhere.

4. Step 4 of 8 · 15 min

   Pair your birds

   A pair is declared in one of three breeding modes, classic pair, polygamous group or complex group, and that choice determines how certain the parentage of the young will be: it is the decision that reaches furthest into the future.

5. Step 5 of 8 · 20 min

   Follow a clutch through to hatching

   The hatch date is not counted from laying but from the start of brooding, which the app works out from the pattern declared for the species, then shows pre-filled and editable for the cases no calculation can know.

6. Step 6 of 8 · 20 min

   Health, expenses and statistics

   A health record is declared at one of four scopes, a bird, a pair, an aviary or the whole aviary, and can carry a due date that triggers a dated reminder, in the app and on your phone.

7. Step 7 of 8 · 15 min

   Prepare and follow an exhibition

   The Exhibitions module is built for poultry beauty shows judged against the standard, with an individual score per bird: it does not cover racing pigeon competitions, whose rankings rest on releases and speed.

   Make the workspace your own

   The sidebar, the dashboard and the opening view of each module are all set from the Configuration page, and those settings live on the server: what you arrange on the computer follows you to the phone.
