Health, at the right scale

The question is not what to record, but on what. An individual treatment attaches to the bird. A seasonal vaccination attaches to the pair, the aviary or the whole flock, depending on what you actually treated.

Six types exist by default, vaccination, treatment, veterinary examination, illness, injury and medication, and you can create others with their icon and their colour. The record accepts the vet, whose name is offered back to you from the second time on, the cost, the medication, the dosage and the duration.

Closing a record when some birds did not receive the treatment asks for confirmation. That is deliberate: once closed, the record disappears from the untreated birds’ files and stays in the others’, which keeps the history honest.

Reminders

A record can carry a next due date and a reminder time, seven in the morning by default. The alert creates itself and warns you on the day.

It is the same mechanism as the hatching and banding reminders met at the previous step. You choose in your settings which notifications reach you, and installing the app on your phone forwards them there.

Expenses

Nine categories cover the ordinary life of an aviary: feed, health, equipment, housing, breeding, transport, administration, energy, maintenance. Each has its icon and its colour, and you can add more.

An expense that comes back, the monthly bag of pellets, the yearly insurance, is declared recurring with its frequency, and its next occurrence works itself out. For the rest, duplication carries over everything from an existing expense with today’s date.

What you do not have to enter is worth saying: the revenue. It comes from the bird and egg sales recorded at the previous steps, and health costs and acquisition costs join the financial analysis by themselves.

Standing back

Each page header already gives its totals, and the dashboard shows your flock broken down by species, by sex and by status.

The Statistics page goes further, by theme, flock, breeding, health, exhibitions and finances, with findings written out in plain words rather than curves to interpret alone. It is reserved for the Premium and Pro plans.

The Pro plan adds an assistant that answers directly on your data, which filters do not always replace: how many birds per species, which pairs are productive, who lives in which aviary, which birds are assigned nowhere.

Dictating the entry rather than typing it

That same assistant can also write, and it is a way in of its own. “Record a clutch of four eggs for pair R001/25 today”, “move bird 2345/26 to sold at eighty euros”, “create an aviary called Quarantine 2”: the sentence replaces the form.

It never writes on its own. It prepares the operation and shows it as a card, detailing field by field what will be recorded, and nothing goes through until you have approved it. The colour announces the weight of the move: green for a creation, orange for a change, with the old and the new value side by side, red for a deletion. A red card can list several records at once, which is exactly the moment to read before confirming.

The ground covered is wide: birds, pairs, clutches, aviaries, exhibitions and their results, health records, expenses, and even the items of your configuration. A few guard rails stay in place, matching those of the interface: an aviary is only deleted when empty, and an exhibition is not deleted from the conversation, because it would take all its results with it.

The assistant is reserved for the Pro plan, reading as well as writing.
